work permit in Thailand

Then the most practical way of doing that would be to form a limited company. Below mentioned is the procedure;

  • Register capital for the limited company. Make sure that the company has at least two million baht registered share capital for the work permit in Thailand.
  • You must pay a minimum salary of 25,000 to 60,000 baht per month while paying personal income tax on it. As for the VAT, your company is generally expected to pay.
  • Once you have completed the application form, ensure that there are three sets of all the documents. Get copies of your passport and your professional passport size photographs. Make sure your passport is valid for 12 months and has at least five blank pages.
  • If you are in Thailand, but do not have a non-immigrant visa (Type B), then you will need to be at a non-immigrant consulate or embassy to apply for a 3-month Non-Immigrant Visa. For that you must carry a signed or stamped copy of your company’s documents that include Certificate of Incorporation; tax receipts for VAT; list of shareholders; details of the directors and of the registered office.

Additionally, your company should provide a sponsorship letter plus passport photographs, completed application form and visa fee. Please note that your visa will be valid for 90 days.

Similarly, make sure that you have all the important documents to present it to the Labour Department, which are as follows;

  • Completed application form (WP1-WP10),
  • Employment contract,
  • Memorandum of Association,
  • VAT registration certificate,
  • List of company shareholders,
  • Organizational chart,
  • CV/resume and copies of all your educational certificates,
  • Certificate of Incorporation,
  • Copies of passport and Non-Immigrant Visa,
  • Three recent passport photographs,
  • MAP of your registered office, and,
  • Health certificate

Consider three weeks for the application. Then;

  • Collect the work permit from the Labour Department alongside forms of extension of stay;
  • Make application for a year’s extension of stay at the Immigration on the day of your visa expiry. Initially, they will extend the visa by 30 days only;
  • When you have renewed your annual work permit along with visa, you will be requiring employment contract, annual income report, power of attorney (in case not applying in person), and audited financial statements.

Well, there’s also an alternative way of getting a work permit in Thailand by obtaining a one or three-year Non-Immigrant business visa. One of the advantages of going through this way is that the Immigration criteria will not be that stringent.
