Regulations for Customs Clearance in Thailand Involve

Customs Regulations in Thailand is a combination of requirements for the import and export of goods across the border of Thailand. Thailand has a system of “Green” and “Red Corridor”. 
Green Corridor can be used by person transferring goods which are not subject to a customs declaration. 
Red Corridor is provided for persons transferring goods which are subject to a customs declaration. These are the goods that should be paid by customs taxes, forbidden goods or goods that required a special authorization.

4-Steps of Customs Clearance in Thailand For Import/Export

Submission of Declaration

Submit a completed Declaration Form to the Customs system. A number is automatically generated by the customs and the message is forwarded to the shipping agent.

Checking & Verification

The customs department checks and verifies the declaration and the documents submitted based on which they issue a Declaration and Payment number.

Pay Customs Duties & Taxes

Pay the applicable duties & taxes. There are 3 modes of payment, that are, payment at Customs Department, payment at banks and payment thorough e-payment system.

Cargo Inspection & Release

The cargoes are inspected to be released from the Customs custody. The freight forwarder loads cargo into containers and the cargo control report is transferred to the e-customs system.
