Then you will need to apply for permanent residence in Thailand, if you do not have a Thai wife. To apply for the status you can consider the below mentioned five categories;

  1. Investment,
  2. Work/Business,
  3. Supporting Thai citizen or being supported by Thai citizen,
  4. Supporting alien who already had a residence permit or being supported by alien who already had a residence permit,
  5. Experts.

However, amongst the above work/business and supporting a Thai citizen/being supported by one are the two most common categories. The basic requirement for each is below;

 

Work/Business

  Supporting Thai citizen or

being supported by Thai citizen

 
 

1. Holder of extension of stay permit for 3 years or more (consecutively);

2. Holder of work permit for 3 years or more (consecutively);

3. Earning annual income of 960,000 Baht or more during the past 3 years;

4. If you have changed your job (employer) during the past 3 year, you must be working for your current employer for no less than 1 year.

   

1. Holder of extension of stay permit for 3 years or more (consecutively);

2. Holder of work permit for 3 years or more (consecutively);

3. Earning annual income of 360,000 Baht or more during the past 3 years;

4. Legally married to a Thai national:

a.  Married for at least 2 years and having their biological child together; or;

b.  In case of infertility, they have to be married for at least 5 year + providing medical certification of their issue
